Copper Branch a vegan spot must!

Copper Branch a vegan spot must!

When I first started out in the vegan universe and my curiosity pushed me towards wanting to know more and taste everything, I most often had to create it at home on my own. Back then, being vegan was not yet trendy, so there weren’t many restaurants out there. Every trip I took to California would tease my taste buds. I would come back here and be so inspired by it all that I tried to remake everything I had seen out there.

And as much as I love cooking, there’s just something that I can’t resist  about going out to a good restaurant and discovering delicious new meals . Vegan cooking, trends and baking techniques evolve and change often therefore I want to be as up to date as possible. Luckly (well, for me at least!) there are more and more vegan restaurants now that the lifestyle is gaining popularity (yessss!!) and there seems to be new ones opening every month in the greater Montréal area.

Today I wanted to share with you one of my family’s favorite spot: The Copper Branch restaurants. We officially became fans a few months agon when we discovered the location at the Dix30, which is only a few minutes away from home for us. We go at least once a week, often when my brother comes to visit from Magog with his girldfriend and baby girl (and although he says they come to visit us, I think the Vegan Poutine and Shitake Burger make a strong case for their travels)

A simple concept: 100% Vegan fast food!

You can either eat on the spot or take it to go, you get your order very quickly. You’ll find lovely little vegan meals, made with fresh and healthy ingredients: greens power at its best! You order at the counter, the menu is shown on a screen and there are several options to satisfy everybody’s wants. From chia pudding to poutine (with oven-baked fries), burgers to soups, sandwiches to cold pressed juices and the list goes on.

I personally love the concept of meals in a bowl. You choose your base; either rice, quinoa, lettuce mix  or tofu noodles. All other ingredients are added on top of that chosen base and you can add whichever protein. On my first visit I opted for the Aztec bol with Brown rice and Tempeh. Yuummm! I now have it every time we go! When we open the door, Sky immediatly says : Hummm! Menoum! Menoum! Rice mama! She loves the Aztec bowl just as much as I do.

Those who know me well will not be surprised to hear I tried the famous Gluten-Free Chocolate Zucchini brownies (I have quite the sweet tooth!) It is safe to say it was one of the best brownies I’ve had in my life. So moist with the most succulent icing dusted with hemp seeds…I mean, if its hemp seeds and zucchini it’s as if you’re eating an energy bar…right?! (I love how I tried to convince myself whilst taking a second helping!)

So if you’re not yet an addict, I highly recomend this lovely and delicious vegan restaurant, I just know you’ll enjoy it! There is not what one person that I brought there that has not returned afterwards. There are many Copper Branch in the Montréal region, click here to find the one closest to you!

On that note have a great weekend, who knows, maybe we’ll see each other in one of their restaurants! If you do see me, don’t hesitate to come and say hi, I love getting to know all of you 🙂
